My name is Sue Sutton. I have lived in Calderdale for 24 years and I am a retired Headteacher, having led 2 primary schools within the Local Authority. I’ve been a member of the Governing Board for 7 years and currently hold the posts of Safeguarding Link Governor and the Chair of the Governing Board. I am committed to working alongside and supporting the Senior Leadership Team to provide the best educational experience for all our pupils.

As Director of Computing and Enterprise for the TMAT West Cluster, I work closely with educators to design inclusive curricula that meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with SEND. I have successfully led initiatives to integrate SEND considerations into mainstream teaching, ensuring tailored support for each child’s academic and personal growth.

At Trinity Academy St Peters, I am committed to promoting inclusivity through effective curriculum development. By working collaboratively with school leadership, staff, and the broader community, I strive to implement strategies that make learning accessible, engaging, and relevant for every student. I am also deeply committed to fostering a culture of safety, respect, and belonging where every child is valued and supported.

As an Associate Senior Leader at Trinity Academy Halifax, I play a pivotal role in collaborating with teachers and support staff to deliver exceptional support tailored to the diverse needs of our student body, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). My leadership in this capacity has been instrumental in successfully leading initiatives to integrate alternative provision within mainstream education. This approach ensures that each child receives customised support that addresses both their academic and personal growth, fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

At Trinity Academy St Peters, my commitment to promoting inclusivity is steadfast and integral to my role. Collaborating closely with school leadership, staff, and the broader community, I am dedicated to implementing innovative strategies that ensure learning is accessible, engaging, and relevant for every student. I take immense pride in developing and executing comprehensive plans that cater to a diverse array of learning styles and needs. By tailoring our interventions and instructional methods to fit individual requirements, I strive to create an environment where each student has the opportunity to excel academically, socially, and personally. My goal is to foster a supportive and dynamic educational experience that empowers every student to reach their full potential.

Currently, I work as Vice Principal in our multi-academy trust, where I combine my leadership responsibility with my passion for teaching English. With a career dedicated to education, I champion academic excellence and innovative approaches to learning, continuing to support our MAT-wide ethos and vision. My career is centred around Teaching and Learning; I am proud to work with a team of dedicated practitioners in our Trinity MAT, who strive to ensure that all students have access to 'world-class' provision, day-in, day-out.

In my role as Governor, I welcome the opportunity to support the academy in ensuring that all young people continue to have access to 'quality first teaching', which ultimately leads to strong outcomes for our students, opening doors to bright futures.

I am honoured to serve as Governor at Trinity Academy St Peter's. I have been a part of the wider Multi Academy Trust for the last 13 years. During this time I have developed a deep understanding of the school’s values, culture, and commitment to its students.

My professional background is rooted in pastoral care, an area I am truly passionate about. As a Senior Year Manager, at Trinity Academy Bradford I work closely with students, staff, and families to ensure that every young person feels supported, understood, and able to thrive both academically and personally. This role has given me valuable insight into the daily experiences of our students, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face.
As a Governor, I aim to bring this experience to the table—helping to shape decisions that promote student wellbeing, strengthen our school community, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed. It is a privilege to contribute to a school that continually strives to nurture, inspire, and empower its learners.
