Healthy Eating

We understand the importance of healthy eating and a balanced diet in making sure our pupils are ready to learn. Children have the option of dinners at the academy or bringing a packed lunch.

Our highly-acclaimed lunches are made within the Trust and cost £2.40 per day. Options include sandwiches, a choice of hot meals and desserts, including fruit. Menus work on a three week rolling programme. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request.

Please note that parents and children make their choices in advance from the menu. A link is sent out to parents twice a year for Summer and Winter. Any changes to the menu need at least 1 weeks’ notice.

Payment for school meals should be made weekly, in advance, using the MyChildAtSchool app.

Lunch is eaten in the dining hall, with all classes eating together from 12:15pm – 1:00pm. Children who bring a packed lunch also eat in the dining hall.

Parents are asked to support our approach to healthy eating if their child brings a packed lunch, and to help us meet health and safety requirements by ensuring that children do not bring hot food or drink in glass flasks, and that drinks are sent in unbreakable containers.

Breakfast Club & After School Club

Breakfast Club runs every morning from 7:45am and the club is £3.50 a session. After School Club runs every day from the end of school to 5:00pm. Bookings and payments must be made in advance on the MyChildAtSchool system.

Milk and snacks

Children in Reception receive free milk until their 5th birthday and, along with Key Stage 1, receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day. We also offer milk to all children in Key Stage 1. Please note that children in Year 1 to Year 6 are invited to bring a healthy snack to eat at breaktime.
